Overlay Shares Crosses $400M and Celebrates 2 Years
By Megan Delaney on Oct 05, 2021
It’s hard to believe it’s been two full years since we launched the initial five funds in the Overlay Shares ETF suite. In tandem with our 2 year anniversary, we have also crossed $400M in assets under management since they began trading on the NYSE Arca in October 2019. Over the past two years, we’ve hit many milestones including our initial raise of $100M in assets under management within 7 weeks of launch, having our Overlay Shares Cord Bond ETF nominated as a finalist in both the Best Active ETF and Best Fixed Income ETF categories for the Fund Intelligence Mutual Fund Industry and ETF Awards 2021 , and of course, navigating through a global pandemic.
Since the launch of the Overlay Shares, our team has worked to help solve major investor problems, utilizing tools and strategies typically only available to large investors. The initial five funds sought to generate supplemental income above and beyond the total return provided by the largest equity and bond asset classes. The two newer funds, OVT and OVLH, launched in January 2020 in order to address the risk of risking interest rates for bonds, and offer protection against severe equity market corrections, respectively.
“While income overlay strategies are not new, they have historically come with operational complexities that have made them challenging for many investors to properly access. Packaging this process in a transparent, easy to access ETF brings sophisticated solutions to a broader investor audience,” said Justin Boller, Portfolio Manager for Liquid Strategies and Overlay Shares.
We owe a big thank you to all of our strategic partners, early adopter visionaries and investors for their Overlay support throughout this process. We share the success of these past two years with you all.
